Irving, Thanks for opening up the salon early this morning to let me get my hair done before I went to work. I start my new job on Monday and had no other time when I could have made it in to Dundee for an appointment. It is not the first time you have come to my rescue when I have needed a speedy appointment because I had an interview, special meeting or event to attend and wanted to feel I was looking my best. Also my hair seems to grow like wildfire and quickly develops a mind of its own, so you never get an easy job to deal with. The service is very personal and I love it. Your staff have the knack of making you feel very comfortable and that they care about you. When they welcome you into the salon you really feel they mean it and they remember who you are when you return for your next appointment.

I have been a client of Irving Miskell - Reid and Freedom Hairdressing for many years. I am always relaxed and confident when I go to have my hair done, as I know the result will be first class. More recently, it has been interesting watching how Irving has transformed the new premises into a bright modern salon with his own personal and artistic style.
On a recent salon visit, after a consultation with Irving, I was pleased to find out it was Sarah McDonald who was to be colouring my hair. In the year that she has been there, I have often chatted to her as she did my hair, and found her to be helpful with advice, and very enthusiastic about being a hairdresser. It must have been quite difficult putting two colours of highlights and then a semi – permanent on my hair, but she did them with ease, and the results were amazing. They had been positioned so well, I could not wait to show my hair colour to my friends.
My hairstyle was completed when Irving cut my hair into the new style we had discussed. As usual he gave me advise on how to style and care for my hair. I always recommend Freedom to my friends and its heart warming to see a new generation of hairdressers being trained by Irving’s experience and commitment.

With hair that required special attention I was a nervous customer visiting Freedom for the first time. I was immediately struck on entering the salon by a sense of calm and peace. This was achieved by clever use of light and space and décor.
After consultation with Creative Director Irving Miskell-Reid I was put into the capable young hands of Lynne McGinnis. A kind and caring person, Lynne put me at ease by explaining the procedure to me. Because of the coarseness of my hair and its condition it would take two or three sessions to get it up to scratch. Once I knew what was required I was able to relax and talk freely to Lynne.
I was impressed that even though everything seemed to be going well Lynne noticed that an area of re-growth had not taken and she immediately set about correcting this. She worked diligently and quickly and nothing was too much trouble for her. I can heartily recommend Lynne, not only to the shy and nervous like I but to anyone who wants to be made to like good in a warm and caring atmosphere.

Going into Freedom Hair with Irving is a really worthwhile and relaxing experience. After years of having my hair cut in other salons I have found this salon friendly and comfortable to be able to have a chat, a cup of coffee and my hair cut in these surroundings. Although my wife has had her hair attended to by Irving for many years I had reservations about getting my hair cut here but this has all changed because Irving and his staff are very helpful, friendly and make it a pleasure to return on a regular basis. -
